How to Change Nickname on Zoom (Meeting & Account Settings)

Whether you need a professional name for work calls or just want to stop showing up as “iPhone User,” changing your Zoom name takes about 10 seconds. Here’s every method.

Before a Meeting (Quick Change)

1. Join the meeting
2. In the participants panel, hover over your name
3. Click More → Rename
4. Type your new name → OK

This only changes your name for that specific meeting. Once it ends, you revert to your account name.

Permanent Change (Account Settings)

Desktop App:

1. Click your profile picture (top right)
2. Click My Profile (opens in browser)
3. Click Edit next to your name
4. Update your Display Name
5. Save

Mobile App:

1. Tap More (bottom right)
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Display Name
4. Edit and Save

Web Portal:

1. Go to zoom.us → Sign In
2. Click Profile (left sidebar)
