How to Change Your Nickname in Steam (Quick Tutorial)

Steam makes name changes ridiculously easy compared to most platforms. No cooldowns, no fees, unlimited changes. Here’s how.

Desktop Client (Under 30 Seconds)

1. Open Steam → click your profile name (top right)
2. Click Profile
3. Click Edit Profile
4. Change the Profile Name field
5. Scroll down → Save Changes

Done. Your new name shows up immediately across all Steam features — friends list, in-game, and community pages.

Steam Mobile App

1. Open the Steam app → tap your avatar (top right)
2. Tap Edit Profile
3. Change your Profile Name

What Makes a Good Steam Name
